Starting a Home Business In The Military?I first started bouncing the idea around in my head to start a home-based business about 3 1/2 years ago when I was still in the military. I thought, in theory, that it would be nice (when I transitioned out of the military) to be able to work from home and be with my growing family. However, I did not put as much effort into growing a successful business online as I should have.
The reason, in hindsight, is that I did not have the need, or a real purpose to build a business. My wife and I were both in the military, and we were both bringing home a lot of money each month, and we had one of our incomes going right into our savings account. Life was easy, and good. I was not looking very far down the road, like I should have been, since I was leaving the military soon. But, like my dad always told me, "In Hind-sight, you always see 20/20."
My Journey Towards Financial Prosperity and FreedomI quickly discovered that making money online was not as quick, or as easy, as people were making it sound. With this new knowledge, I started bouncing around from opportunity to opportunity, in search of that ONE that would send me into the direction of financial prosperity, and freedom. Over the last few years, I have tried just about everything out there.
- Affiliate Programs,
- E-stores,
- Building Websites,
- Network Marketing (MLM).
I had little successes here-and-there over the last few years, but ultimately I had failed to achieve my goal of financial freedom. However, if there is one thing I have taken out of the Marine Corps, then it has to be to keep moving forward...never surrender. Basically,
failure is not an option! This idea, and the strong desire to stay at home with my family has been the driving force of my ability to push through this "learning period".
What I Have LearnedI have learned that, in order, to build a successful and healthy, online business, you need four things:
- Traffic
- Sales
- On-going Consumption
- and Replication.
I will not go over the specific step-by-step process on how to do all this that I have learned at this time, but below is a brief overview.
Online, you do not have the luxury of posting a sign in front of your store on a busy road, and gain local traffic(business). Actually, if you don't market your online business, the chances of getting found online is virtually non-existent. So, first lesson:
Marketing is key to the life-blood of your business...The Traffic!
But, it is not enough to have traffic come to your site. No...you have to gain the trust of your potential customer, and convince them to buy from you. This is where you need to learn how to effectively
presell to your customers.

Now, if you have effectively attracted customers to your business, and you have effectively pre-sold to your visitors, converting them to actual customers, then that is great. However, you do not become financially independent off of the sale from one customer. The real money comes from the on-going consumption of your products. This means that you need to continually follow-up with your customers to keep them coming back for more. Basically, you are building a relationship between yourself and your customers.
The aforementioned are essentials for conducting a successful business online, however, if you are in network marketing (MLM), then there is one more step.
You must have a business that others can replicate. In MLM, you build a business by recruiting others into your "down-line". But, your success only comes if your down-line is as successful as you. This means that you need to be able to show them the formula you use to attract customers, make the sale, and follow-up. You must not forget this step because the success, or failure, of your down-line directly affects your bottom-line. The better your down-line does in their business, the better you do in yours. So, help them out.
Important Note: A strong customer-base is more important than a large down-line. Always concentrate on attracting more customers to your online business.
As you can see, building a successful business online is not as easy as it is made out to be. Actually, it is easy, it just takes a lot of work, time, and effort. You cannot expect to be a couch-potato, and reap the benefits of a healthy, successful business.
The Business I Wished I Found While I Was Still In The MilitaryThe military definitely takes care of it's members! You do not have to worry about medical/dental, they advocate programs like the GI Bill and the Thrift Savings Plan, food and lodging is taken care of (if you are single). And even if your not, the military pays handsomely with COLA and BAH, so you are still taken care of.
When I was in the military, my wife and I had so much money coming in a month, it was ridiculous, especially when both of us had two tours overseas in a combat zone. And it was hard for me to see that when the guys came back from deployment, you would start to see $40,000-$50,0000 cars in the parking lot! That's nice for the short term, but I couldn't help but think "what a waste!" Cars in general are such a "money-pit", and they lose value as soon as you drive them off the lot. They are bad investments, nothing more than fun toys, that do not last! But, I digress.
My wife and I could not figure out what to do with all this money that we had acquired from all our deployments, so we decided to put it in a high interest savings account, and start earning interest. Later on, we ended up putting a large down-payment on a house, which is great, but I wish we did things a little differently now.
Just recently, I found a business opportunity that I wished I found while I was still earning a ton of money in the military. After all the failed attempts, I finally found a business that earns money, consistently every month, with as little effort as possible. Actually, when I saw this company's business model, I knew this was it. This was the business that would carry me into financial freedom.

With no hype, and all seriousness, I can honestly say that Trivita's: Tomorrow's Home Business is probably the best online opportunity on the Internet. No where online can you find a business that will allow you to succeed by doing nothing more than buying customers.
Typically, when you join an online business opportunity (MLM), you have
- no customer base to start with,
- you have to learn some effective marketing strategies,
- implement those strategies,
- and hope you are doing it right.
All of this to get good results?! Yikes!
But, Tomorrow's Home Business is not MLM. Actually, you get to be involved with a company's "co-operative marketing, and master conversion system." What this means is that you can pay this company $50 dollars for a paying customer (one that has actually paid for this company's products), and they take that money and put it into their national marketing efforts. (i.e. infomercials, radio programs, etc..) And they also, follow-up with the customers you buy, by sending weekly newsletters to them, which introduces new products and encourages the on-going consumption of the products already purchased.
This means that the two hardest things (marketing, and follow-up) are done for you. Not to mention that you start to see results right away because your business is to just buy customers! So, like I said above, if you do nothing else at all, but buy customers, then over time (by investing in your business) that monthly income will build into a significant one.
But, that is not all. The Tomorrow's Home Business Team goes a little further in that the teams collective marketing efforts actually places people into your "matrix" (people in your downline). So, you do not even have to attract anyone to your business, and the team will systematically place people in your downline. This is done, so that everyone in the entire group can have three Business Affiliates under them, and three under them, and so on. Because your success means success for the entire group.
I found this company 4 months ago, and have already made 8% on my investment! That is unheard of in the business world. In fact, most businesses in their first few years are happy gaining 1%-3% on their initial investment, and I have made 8% in four months! And the best part is that my monthly checks have slowly, but steadily increased every month. I just wish I had found this opportunity 3 1/2 years ago, when I was still serving in the military. But, I hope to help my fellow service members transition successfully from the military to civilian life by sharing this business model.
